Biography Of Howard E. Copeland

Howard Copeland has served the legal needs of thousands of people for over 35 years.

Not only did he study law at the University of Virginia and learn the practical aspects of law through courtroom seasoning,  he made the laws for 15 years as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates.

Howard cares about people and their real life problems, whether it's a dysfunctional family, injuries from an auto accident, a traffic ticket, or any of life's trials and tribulations.  Howard will take your problem to heart and find a solution.

Howard Copeland is 64 years old and has been married for 43 years to Marylin Tabel Copeland of New York City, whom he met while putting himself through Columbia University.  Howard and Marylin have two adult sons.

Howard entered the U.S. Coast Guard after graduation, and was commissioned at Officer Candidate School at Yorktown, Virginia.  He then went into battle in Vietnam aboard the 255-foot Coast Guard Cutter Androscoggin.  Howard served four years on active duty and 22 years in the reserve, holding three commands and retiring at the rank of Captain, after commanding 400 Coast Guard Reservists in Southeast North Carolina including stateside support of the Persian Gulf War.  Captain Copeland attended the Naval War College at Newport, Rhode Island, and was named the outstanding student in a class of 300 senior officers at the National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C.

Howard Copeland is still a student of the law, with far more Continuing Legal Education than required by the Virginia State Bar.  He has participated in an intensive eight-day national trial advocacy institute to further refine his trial preparation and courtroom tactics.  Howard is a firm believer in continuous improvement.
